I’ve never been much of a fictional reader. I’ll usually just reach for a Jackie Kennedy biography or a fashion history book. But lately, I’ve been really into these four fictional reads! I like reading a few pages before bed because it helps me fall asleep and wind down. I can’t just read one book at a time because I’m sad when they end, so reading four at a time helps delay the ending just a bit longer. Lol. Plus, reading four books at a time is like a new adventure every night.
I’ve enjoyed these four over the past few months and they look pretty darn cute on my shelf too.
All the Single Ladies: A Novel by Dorothea Benton Frank: A novel, set in South Carolina, about the friendship between Lisa, Carrie, and Suzanne. They are brought together through tragedy and mystery and teach us that being single doesn’t mean being alone.
All Summer Long: A Novel by Dorothea Benton Frank: The story of an established New York designer who moves south to Charleston in order to retire with the love of her life. The relatable story follows the couple as they make a life-changing switch from the energetic city to the quaint countryside.
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella: Katie Brenner struggles with the desire to have the perfect life after she is fired and forced to return to her family’s farm in Somerset. However, the Katie Brenner shown on Instagram is far from the truth.
Southernmost by Sarah Sadler: The book follows former Alabama beauty queen and current waitress Kayla Carter as she makes the decision between moving in with the wealthy Jack Winslow in Charleston or continue to support herself and her seven-year-old daughter on her own.
