The Perfect Skirt for an Apple Orchard

Over the weekend, some friends and I went to a local orchard to get some apples. I’ve been wanting to go to an orchard badly this fall season and every time I found one it was either too far, their apple season ended, or they didn’t allow u-pick. I finally found the perfect apple orchard and bought Staymans, Winesaps, and apple cider! Stay tuned for apple recipes!

In addition to picking apples, I have been wanting to sew just a simple skirt. Usually, I make dresses or shirts but never skirts. I knew that I wanted plaid fabric for fall, so I went to Hobby Lobby and found this plaid fabric in red and green. Even though it is a Christmas fabric, the red and green reminded me of apples.

Outfit details:

Denim shirt, similar here / Watch, found here / Rain boots, found here

I know. I wrote about avoiding taller boots in my Tips for a Petite Figure, but these are an exception. Rain boots are probably the only boot I’ll wear that is taller than my ankle. However, I do like these short boots from Hunter.

I’m definitely going to be sewing more skirts similar to this pattern. There’s just something about the pattern that makes me feel so put together.

This is my favorite denim shirt because the fabric is softened, so it makes it extra comfy to wear.

P.S. If you haven’t gone apple picking yet, go! Take some friends and a camera because you will have a great time. The season is almost over!
