Birthday Hiking

Over the weekend, some friends and I went hiking to celebrate my roommate’s birthday. It was cool enough to enjoy a breeze and not get too sweaty but warm enough to dip your feet into the falls (even if the water was all dried up). Although some of us received battle wounds, we still had a blast!

I braided my hair into two fishtail braids after twisting back my bangs on both sides. I’ve found that fishtail braids work better for shorter layers and shorter hair. It makes the braid look fuller and adds texture. As for my makeup, I kept it simple with concealer and powder and used Fresh’s Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment on my lips and cheeks.

The falls were pretty dry so we were able to have a seat for a snack where there is usually water flowing.

I wanted to wear a long sleeve shirt just in case we were to go swimming I would be able to tie it around my waist. I also switched out my usual Kate Spade earrings for these from Francesca’s because I didn’t want to lose them while hiking.

In order to get to the falls, you have to slip in between two large boulders.

After a couple of hours of hiking, we went back into the city to have lunch and then to take naps because we went back into the mountains to watch the sunset.
