Kate Spade Drawer DIY

I recently started adding personal touches to my room. It began with a problem I needed to fix. I always stored my makeup that wasn’t used daily in my desk drawer. Over time, foundation has spilled and eye shadow has crumbled. When I cleaned out the drawer, it looked horrendous. At first, I was just going to paint the interior of the drawer white, but then I got the idea of painting a quote inside. Kate Spade was definitely an inspiration for this project because every one of their products has a little saying somewhere, whether it’s in plain sight or it’s hidden; it’s almost like a little treasure hunt each time you pick up a product. Anyway, I went straight to Pinterest to find the perfect quote. The quote reads, “She is quick and curious and playful and strong. She is a voracious reader and a fantastic dancer. She saves old snapshots, but always loses her umbrella. Her emails pile up, but she never forgets to call her grandmother. She has $7 in change in the bottom of her Kate Spade handbag.” When I read it, I thought, “What better quote to describe me than this one!” Although, I may have added the words ‘Kate Spade’ to describe the handbag.

For this project, I used acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby and a few Essie nail polishes for the illustrations.
